OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has introduced the Duris P5 LED component, which offers up to 110 lm/W (3000K color temperature) with an average lifetime of over 50,000 hours, even at high currents and temperatures. In addition, this energy-efficient LED component is the first of its kind in the mid-power applications market and is especially suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions. Osram says it has the lowest failure rate during long-term use.
The component is tested with a long-term corrosive gas (such as sulfur or chlorine), which proves that it will not cause any damage to the LED and will not cause a significant drop in luminous flux. In addition, the component has been tested for a long time under high-temperature, high-humidity conditions similar to saunas, and it has also been confirmed that LEDs are not adversely affected.
