Summary:

This document describes an isolated, power factor-corrected, extremely efficient LED driver that provides 500mA (rated) current drive for a 30 V LED string. The input voltage range is from 90 VAC to 265 VAC.

The LED driver uses the LNK417EG device from the LinkSwitch-PH family of ICs. The device integrates a controller and a 725V MOSFET to dramatically reduce design complexity and component count.

The main goal of this design is to achieve maximum efficiency and eliminate electrolytic capacitors. Both are key factors in improving LED driver life and reliability, making this solution suitable for industrial and commercial applications.

This document contains LED driver specifications, schematics, bill of materials, transformer specification files, and typical performance characteristics.
