The turbidity of the soot in the flue is detected by the magnitude of the change in the transmission of light through the flue. If the turbidity of the flue increases, the light emitted by the light source is increased by the absorption and refraction of the soot particles, and the light reaching the photodetector is reduced, so that the intensity of the output signal of the photodetector can reflect the change in the turbidity of the flue.

(2) Photoelectric speed sensor

A rotating plate with a hole is fixed on the rotating shaft to be tested, and a constant light is generated by an incandescent lamp on the side of the adjusting plate, and reaches a photoelectric converter composed of a photodiode through a small hole in the disk, and is converted into a corresponding electric pulse signal. After the amplification shaping circuit outputs a neat pulse signal, the rotation speed is determined by the pulse frequency.

(3) Photocell

When photocells are used as photodetectors, the basic principle is the same as that of photodiodes, but their basic structure and manufacturing process are not identical.
