According to London's July 16 news, the US Geological Survey (USGS) released data on Monday showed that US primary aluminum production in April was 209,000 tons, down 4% from 217,000 tons last month.
The average daily aluminum production in April was 6,964 tons, slightly lower than last month's level, but up 10% from the same period last year.
According to the USGS, aluminum production from scrap aluminum in April was 234,000 tons, down 9% from the previous month and down 5% from the same period last year.
In April, the amount of recycled aluminum in the new scrap aluminum was 144,000 tons, a decrease of 9% from the previous month and a 9% decrease from the same period last year.
Recycled aluminum production in old scrap aluminum was 91,000 tons, down 9% from the previous month but up 1% from the same period last year.
