London Olympic Games Uses Vista Macro to Get Computer Equipment Order

It is reported that in accordance with the contract, Acer needs to provide hardware and services. At present, 95% of the hardware is already in place, and software service personnel are recruiting. About 25% of on-site technical service personnel are required.

According to reports, Acer needs a total of about 10,000 desktop computers, 1,000 laptops, and 900 servers for the London Olympic Games Organizing Committee. The Olympic Games Technology Operations Center will have 3,000 to 4,000 computers, and the Olympic Stadium will have 1,500 to 2,000 computers each. It also includes security door scanning devices and touch screen devices.

At present, Acer provides desktop computers mainly Veriton L670Gs models, equipped with Microsoft VistaXP system or quad-core dual-core processor Linux system, the monitor is 15 inches. Laptops are provided with Acer TravelMate 6593Gs model, equipped with Windows 7 system, Intel Centrino Duo processor.

Acer Product Manager Michael Trainor admitted that in order to minimize risk, most computers will use the Microsoft Vista system to ensure that the system is safe and consistent.

In accordance with the contract's stipulations and plans, Acer will employ 300 to 400 technicians to provide about 17 days of technical support, including computer technicians for Olympic venues and operation centers. To ensure that nothing is lost, each venue must have a technical team.
