As of the end of October, on the 120 roads in the urban area, nearly 25,000 LED street lamps were installed and replaced, accounting for more than half of the total number of street lamps in the city.
It is understood that in order to improve the enthusiasm of the application of LED lighting facilities in the county, the Wuhu Municipal Government has formulated the "Notice on Actively Promoting the Application of LED Lighting Facilities", requiring urban roads and new and reconstructed roads in counties and districts to adopt LED street lights. The municipal finance subsidizes the application of LED street lights in the county. In addition, some schools and public units also use LED products for part of the lighting project. Wuhu strives to achieve 100% promotion and application of LED lighting in urban lighting by 2015.
It is understood that in early 2009, in order to expand domestic demand, promote the development of China's LED industry, and reduce energy consumption, the Ministry of Science and Technology launched the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousands" semiconductor lighting application demonstration city program, the first batch covers 21 cities.
