GE launches new website, focusing on lighting regulations

GE has launched two new websites that, in conjunction with existing environmental information center networks, provide training for consumers and businesses that switch to energy-efficient lighting such as SSL. Since the beginning of last year, there have been 4,000 readers visiting. The new website consists of two, one is "Understanding 2012 Lighting Regulations", which focuses on US government or state government regulations, targeting consumers and focusing on eliminating incandescent lighting; for example, the elimination of incandescent lamps in 2012, 75W and 60W will be phased out in 2013 and 2014 respectively. The other is the “Provisional Product Replacement (LPR) Tool”, which is designed to help companies detect the legitimacy of lighting fixtures.

Brian Sroub, director of marketing for GE Lighting, said the goal was to let customers know that GE's halogen lamps, CFLs, SSL products and systems meet the government's upcoming efficiency standards and help lighting fixture consumers make the right decisions.

The LPR website focuses on lighting standards for groups including engineers, lighting designers and architects. Using this tool, professionals can find out if any new regulations affect the application of a particular product, such as a lighting fixture. Just enter the product code to determine if it is energy efficient and meet future lighting efficiency standards!
