LED industry investment hot or not hot?

Recently, the investment projects of the LED industry are constantly moving. How do you view this phenomenon and how will it affect the market? Through the combing of the major investment projects that have been publicized in the near future (see Table 1), you can see that in all aspects of the industrial chain. On the other hand, the investment in epitaxial chips is large. In this regard, the industry generally believes that market demand is the main driver. Compared with packaging and applications, chips are mainly affected by capital and market demand. Chips are a large part of current and future demand, and they are also in a state of short supply.

On the other hand, regardless of domestic and foreign, investors are optimistic about the LED market in the future, especially in the commercial lighting market, have laid out China. In addition, many local government pushes are also factors that affect investment.

The investment action continues, what will be the impact on the LED market? According to industry insiders, from the perspective of supply and demand, the current supply shortage of the chip market is mainly driven by demand for notebook computers and LCD TV backlights, and will be in short supply in the short term. The situation, but whether the market can continue in the next few years, the LED lighting market is critical. Some insiders believe that the development of the LED lighting market is difficult to predict in the next few years. Some insiders also said that based on the continuous advancement of LED technology, the cost is declining. Three to five years, the expectation of LED breakthrough in the commercial lighting market is more optimistic. The market is constantly changing. If the lighting market is not expected to be realized, and LED backlight TVs cannot break through 32, 38, 42 and other large-scale technical bottlenecks, the capital is still entering, then the chip market is likely to be oversupply.

And Gong Weibin, general manager of Shenzhen Ruifeng Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. said that the current supply and demand relationship is short-term, mainly due to the demand for LCD TV LED backlights. At present, domestic and international TV factories are actively deploying their own LED supply chains. The situation of short supply before the first quarter of next year will be alleviated, but the production capacity will expand at a geometric multiple. In addition, the large-scale entry of LED into the lighting market may not be very fast. Therefore, it is likely that there will be a huge oversupply. The situation will affect many small and medium-sized packaging plants, application plants and chip factories in China.

It can be seen that although the current demand in the backlight market is strong, the LED lighting market in the future is crucial for the overheating of LED investment. Whether the development of the LED backlight market can continue to be driven by the demand for backlights remains to be seen.

After the completion of the project, the annual output value will be 11.5 billion yuan, which will become China's giant LED industry base.
Powerchip Semiconductor Industrial Park and Jingwang Optoelectronics LED Chip Project Start The total investment is 4.2 billion US dollars. The project will build 100 MOCVD blue LED chip production lines and 8-inch and 12-inch wafer production lines in Xuzhou Economic Development Zone, and develop semiconductor industry chains through the introduction of related supporting enterprises. Among them, the first phase of the project invested 1 billion US dollars, the registered capital of 99.8 million US dollars, after the completion of production is expected to reach 3.7 billion yuan.
Package application The LED project invested by LG Innotex Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of South Korea's LG Group, settled in Zhongkai High-tech Zone, Huizhou, Guangdong. The investment is over $100 million. It will be in production in August, including LED packaging, backlighting and lighting applications, with an estimated annual production value of $1 billion.
The LED project of Suzhou Industrial Park invested by Longda Electronics, a subsidiary of Taiwan AUO Group, started. Invested 500 million US dollars. The project will integrate LED epitaxial wafers , chips, package testing, light strips and lamps into the upstream and downstream industries to create the largest LED industry base in the mainland. The project will be put into production in the first quarter of 2011 to provide LCD panel LED backlights and LED lighting applications to domestic and foreign markets.


The Co-Al Co-doped Barium Titanate Lead-free Piezoelectric Ceramics was successfully developed by Yuhai company through repeated experiments. By Researching the influence of Co-Al Co-doping on the structure and properties of Barium Titanate-based piezoelectric ceramics, the formulation and preparation technology of Barium Titanate-based piezoelectric ceramics were optimized. Yuhai`s BaTiO3 was prepared by conventional solid-phase sintering method, with the piezoelectric constant d33 (>170pC/N), dielectric loss tgδ≤0.5% and mechanical coupling coefficient  Kp≥0.34.

Barium titanate lead-free piezoelectric ceramics are important basic materials for the development of modern science and technology, which was widely used in the manufacture of ultrasonic transducers, underwater acoustic transducers, electroacoustic transducers, ceramic filters, ceramic transformers, ceramic frequency discriminators, high voltage generators, infrared detectors, surface acoustic wave devices, electro-optic devices, ignition and detonation devices, and piezoelectric gyroscope and so on.

Application:  military, ocean, fishery, scientific research, mine detection, daily life and other fields.
