Yesterday, the reporter learned from the well-known lighting brand in Foshan Snow Wright, the company and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Taiwan's leading wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiwan Semiconductor Solid State Lighting formally formed a strategic alliance, the two sides will jointly explore the Chinese mainland and global LED lighting market. Both parties claimed that Snowlight's LED lighting products will fully utilize TSMC solid-state lighting components for product design and application development, while TSMC solid-state lighting will also be supported by the latest LED modules and electromechanical heat integration technologies. The future direction of cooperation between both parties is not only in general lighting products, but also in forward-looking lighting applications such as photobiological lighting and automotive lighting. Some LED companies have begun to shift to the division of labor in the upstream and downstream alliances.

Talking about this cooperation, Snowwright Chairman Chai Guosheng told this reporter that the company is glad that in the past two years, it has not been involved in the upstream field. “The upstream is not our long-term business, and it will not play better than the current upstream companies. I think The alliance between upstream and downstream is more long-lasting." This time, Chai Guosheng’s attitude is in stark contrast to the fact that many companies in the industry were keen to invest in the middle reaches of the industry. The huge investment scale is dragging down those companies that are involved in the middle and upper reaches.
