MAGIX Acquires VR Software Firm Simplitec, Will Launch VR Products Next Year

German technology company MAGIX is seeking to expand its influence in the field of virtual reality and plans to launch VR products in 2018. This company has already acquired VR software company Simplitec.

MAGIX plans to significantly increase its business in the VR field. They have developed a series of VR and MR projects with Intel and Microsoft, such as Microsoft's HoloLens head. MAGIX recently acquired Dresden software company Simplitec, hoping to increase its influence in the VR market. In the future, Simplitec will develop VR software products under the leadership of MAGIX.

MAGIX's upcoming VR suite will include the new MAGIX VR Maker and MAGIX video software. The software is designed to allow users to develop applications for Web VR and mobile VR through 360-degree video and panoramic/360-degree still photography. MAGIX plans to use the suite as a complete solution that allows users to create and share VR-based visual worlds.

The market analysis report pointed out that the VR market will continue to grow, especially in the areas of VR video and 360-degree video, so MAGIX hopes to further expand the market. The Digi-Capital report states that the market value of the VR video market will exceed 6 billion U.S. dollars by 2020.

MAGIX has been producing multimedia software and applications for digital editing and archiving of film, music and photography content for the past 20 years. The upcoming VR suite will be the company's first software specifically developed for VR.
