AMD Japan announced today that it will reduce the retail price of the three Phenom II X4 900 series high-end black box models, with the maximum price reduction exceeding 10%. The first is the top four-core Phenom II X4 980 BE 3.7GHz, original price 17380 yen (Â¥ 1430), current price 15480 yen (Â¥ 1270), a decrease of 11%. The processor currently sells for 15980 yen (Â¥1315) at the lowest price in Japan's Akihabara market.
Then is the Phenom II X4 970 BE 3.5GHz, original price 14480 yen (Â¥ 1190), current price 13480 yen (Â¥ 1110), a drop of 7%.
The last is Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GHz, the original price of 12480 yen (Â¥ 1025), current price 11980 yen (Â¥ 985), a decrease of 4%.
However, it is not yet clear whether the price reduction will be limited to Japan or will be carried out globally. On AMD's official website, the prices marked by these three processors remain unchanged, or 185/155/135 US dollars.
