In our daily work, we often need to export certain content from a PowerPoint (PPT) file. For instance, when sharing on WeChat, it's common to convert the PPT into a long image format for easier viewing. Traditionally, this involves manually copying and pasting elements from the PPT, which can be time-consuming, especially if you're dealing with a large number of resources. However, there are more efficient methods to extract various media files directly from PPTs, saving both time and effort.
Direct Extraction of PPT Media Files
Many PPTs contain images, audio, and video files. If you want to extract these for use in other documents, you can use a simple method involving compression tools. Start by renaming the .pptx file extension to .zip. Then, open the file using 7-Zip or any similar decompression software. Inside the folder, navigate to the "ppt/media" directory, where all your images, audio, and video files will be stored. From there, you can easily extract the files you need (Figure 1).

Using Word to Quickly Extract PPT Notes
For complex presentations, it's common to add speaker notes to each slide to help remember what to say during the presentation. To make it easier to recall these notes, you can export them into a text format. In PowerPoint 2016, go to "File → Export → Create Handout," select "Notes next to slide," and export the file to Word. The result is a table format with three columns: slide number, slide content, and notes. You can delete the unnecessary columns and keep only the notes (Figure 2).

Once the file is opened in Word, you can select the note content and use the "Convert to Text" feature under the "Layout" tab to turn the formatted notes into plain text (Figure 3). This makes it much easier to review the notes while going through the slides.

Tip: There are many ways to batch export PPT content. For example, using the "View → Outline View" option allows you to quickly copy all slide titles into a text file.
Export Long Puzzle with iSlide Plugin
If your PPT uses images to represent text, you might want to share it as a single long image, especially on platforms like WeChat or Weibo. The iSlide plugin makes this easy. After installing the plugin, open your PPT and click "iSlide → Jigsaw." You can adjust settings such as size, spacing between slides, and whether to add a watermark (Figure 5).

Click "Save As" to generate the long puzzle. The selected slides will be automatically stitched into one continuous image, which can be viewed and printed on any device (Figure 6).

Converting PPT for Easy Sharing
Since PPT files require specific versions of PowerPoint to open, it's often necessary to convert them into other formats for wider compatibility. Here are two common conversion methods:
1. PPTX to PPT
To convert .pptx files to the older .ppt format, you can use the "Batch PPTX to PPT Converter." Simply import the files, set the output directory, and click "Convert" (Figure 7).

2. PPT to PDF
PDF files are widely supported and cannot be edited easily. Use the "Batch PPT to PDF Converter" to convert multiple PPT files at once. Once converted, Windows 10 users can view the files directly in Microsoft Edge (Figure 8).
