Global Fabless IC supplier ranking released in 2010

In 2010, the global fabless IC supplier ranking has been released! According to recent statistics from the market-regulation agency ICInsights, Qualcomm continued to secure the title of US$7.204 billion in revenue, while Broadcom replaced AMD with a slight gap of US$6.589 billion less than US$100 million. US$6.494 billion) ranked second, and Madwell (Marvell; US$3,592 million) ranked fourth and fifth, and MediaTek (US$3,590 million) differed by less than US$2 million!

It is worth noting that among the top 10 fabless IC suppliers in the world, only MediaTek is headquartered in Taiwan, and the other nine headquarters are located in the United States. Of the top 20 suppliers, 13 are U.S. vendors, and the top 13 vendors have revenues in excess of 1 billion U.S. dollars. The total revenue of these 20 fabless IC suppliers accounted for 77% of the global fabless market, amounting to approximately USD 59.9 billion!

In addition to MediaTek, the top 20 Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturers also include the 11th largest (Novatek; 1.149 billion), the 13th largest (Mstar; 1.067 billion), and the 16th and 17th largest (Realtek; 7.06). Billion) and Wonder Photo (Himax; 643 million).

ICInsights pointed out in particular that 2010 was the only year in which the growth rate of fabless IC companies did not exceed the growth rate of the overall semiconductor market. In this year, the growth rate of fabless IC companies was 27%, while the average growth rate of the entire semiconductor market during the same period was 31%. ICInsights pointed out that compared to the average growth of 31%, the growth rates of Qualcomm, MediaTek, Nvidia, LSI, ST-Ericsson, Raychem, and WonderVision are all below this level and need to be strengthened, ST-Ericsson and Qijing Optoelectronics even saw negative growth, and MediaTek only maintained a low growth rate of 3%.

On the other hand, seven Fabless IC companies performed very well in 2010, exceeding the average growth rate in 2010, ranking according to the growth rate compared to 2009, namely Morningstar (76%) and Altera ( 63%), Broadcom (54%), Alliance (40%), Avago (38%), Xilinx (36%) and Maiwei (34%). The total revenue growth of these seven vendors (57.11 billion US dollars) accounted for 45% of the total growth revenue of the global fabless IC market ($12.615 billion) in 2010!
