According to the reliable information received by the Information Times reporter, the long-held pending real-name system for mobile phones will be announced next month by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (hereinafter referred to as the “Ministry of Industry and Information Technology”).

According to insiders of an operator, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is currently promoting legislation on real name system. Before the success of legislation, all new mobile phone customers must register their real names. After the real-name system has been successfully enacted, old customers who have not previously registered must also be returned by the operator to register personal information. According to related sources, the carrier group company has already issued a notice within the company, so the content of the message is reliable.

Recently, the Information Times reporter asked a press spokesperson for China Unicom to verify the relevant information. The spokesperson also made it clear that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is actually coordinating the three major mobile, China Unicom, and telecom operators to promote real-name mobile phone systems. The real name system will be launched on the month.

Experts expect full realization to take two or three years

According to report, at present, there are more than 700 million mobile phone users in China, 70% of which are prepaid users who do not need real-name registration. Chen Jinqiao, a telecom expert, predicts that it will take 2 to 3 years for a country with a large population, such as China, to fully implement the real-name system for mobile phones.
