Energy-saving cars and high-efficiency motors will receive state subsidies

The National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice to start financial subsidies to promote the work of energy-saving cars and high-efficiency motors to better promote the realization of energy-saving emission reduction targets.

According to the "Circular on the Implementation of Detailed Implementation Rules for Energy-Saving Vehicles (1.6L and Below Passenger Cars)" published by the Ministry of Finance, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the engine displacement is 1.6 liters and below, gasoline and diesel passenger cars (including hybrid and dual-fuel vehicles) with an overall operating condition that is about 20% lower than the current standard are included in the “Energy-saving Products Benefiting People Project” and are promoted nationwide. The central government is spending on consumption. The purchase of energy-saving vehicles is subject to a one-off subsidy of RMB 3,000 per vehicle, which is paid to the purchaser by the manufacturer at the time of sale.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the “Circular on Printing and Distributing the Implementing Rules for the Promotion of High-Efficiency Motors for Energy-Saving Products and Huimin Projects”, for highly efficient and energy-saving small and medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors, high-voltage three-phase asynchronous motors and rare earths. Permanent magnet three-phase synchronous motors are given subsidies of 15-40 yuan/kW, 12 yuan/kw, and 40-60 yuan/kw, respectively.

The National Development and Reform Commission stated that it is expected that by 2012, financial subsidies will be used to promote more than 4 million energy-saving vehicles, achieve annual oil savings of 750 million liters, reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 3.3 million tons, and boost consumption of energy-saving vehicles by more than 400 billion yuan. Financial subsidies for the promotion of highly efficient and energy-saving motors are expected to increase the market share of China's high-efficiency motors from less than 5% to more than 30% in 1-2 years, and achieve annual energy savings of approximately 3.5 billion kwh.
