High-voltage inverter market new development opportunities

In June 2010, the 5th Council of the China Electric Appliance Industry Association Inverter Branch announced that it passed the survey of 18 large-scale enterprises in the frequency converter industry and showed the total industrial output value (current year price) and industrial sales value in 2009. The two indicators increased by 0.071% and 5.78% respectively year-on-year. As an important indicator of the economic benefits of the industry, the total profit increased by 15.57% year-on-year, and the industrial added value decreased by 2.1% year-on-year. From the perspective of industry resource allocation, the total assets of the 18 industry enterprises were 6.009 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.66%.
Among them, the market size of high-voltage inverters (the number of orders and orders from suppliers) has increased by 25.7% from 2008. Although the growth rate has declined, it has maintained a steady growth trend.
It may be hard to imagine that the high-voltage frequency conversion industry that experienced the financial storm has still achieved such rapid development in 2009. This is inseparable from China’s promotion of energy saving and emission reduction policies.
In 2009 , China’s central government increased investment in energy conservation and emission reduction, arranged 49.5 billion yuan in funds to support the construction of ten key energy conservation projects, development of recycling economy, urban sewage and garbage treatment facilities and supporting pipe network reconstruction, water pollution control in key river basins, and capacity building for energy conservation and environmental protection Wait. In 2010, as the year of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," China continued to increase its efforts to implement energy-saving emission reduction. Xie Zhenhua, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that in 2010, the central budget will be arranged to invest 33.3 billion yuan and the central government will receive 50 billion yuan in funds to support the implementation of key energy-saving and emission-reduction projects and ensure that the 11th five-year emission reduction targets are completed in all aspects.
“ Actually, China’s annual energy saving projects for the ten major energy-saving projects have corresponding rigid indicators, and the focus of the energy-saving motor system is to promote frequency control, which will certainly stimulate the market demand for high-voltage inverters in China.” Zhao Zhengming, deputy director of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronic Technology at Tsinghua University, said.
In addition, as an important means in the market promotion of high-voltage frequency converters, the contract energy management model (EMC) has also received national attention and support.
EMC refers to energy management companies signing energy management contracts with users to provide users with services such as energy-saving diagnosis, financing, and transformation. They also use energy-saving benefit sharing to recover investment and gain a reasonable profit. During the implementation of the project, equipment suppliers provide consumers with energy-saving products by signing supply and marketing contracts with energy-saving service companies. Due to the relatively small scale and low level of development of China's energy-saving service industry, there is currently no professional energy-saving service company, which poses a great challenge to the implementation of the EMC project.
To this end, in April 2010, the State Council’s Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the People’s Bank of China, and the State Administration of Taxation issued the “Opinions on Accelerating the Implementation of Contract Energy Management and Promoting the Development of Energy-Saving Service Industries” (hereinafter referred to as “Opinions”), and the “Opinions” are clear. It is proposed that business tax shall be temporarily exempted from the energy-saving service company, and the enterprise income tax shall be exempted for the first three years after the project is obtained, and will be halved for four to six years; EMC expenditures for energy-consuming enterprises may be deducted from the taxable income in the current period; Banks and other financial institutions are encouraged to provide energy service companies with financial services such as project financing and insurance agency payments in accordance with the characteristics of energy-saving service companies' financing needs.
The "Opinions" also clearly pointed out that by 2012, we will foster and foster a group of specialized energy-saving service companies, and develop and expand a number of comprehensive large-scale energy-saving service companies. By 2015, we will establish a relatively complete energy-saving service system so that contract energy management can be used. One of the main ways in which energy-saving units can implement energy-saving reforms.
The industry generally believes that the introduction of this policy will greatly stimulate the release of potential demand in China's high-voltage frequency conversion market, which is expected to bring about over-expected growth of the inverter industry.
“ Compared with the contract energy management policy originally implemented in China, the new policy is more practical and feasible. It has established a business model of trading, purchasing and operating in an energy-saving manner. This applies energy-consuming units and manufacturing enterprises to participate in EMC projects to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction. It is a great promotion.” Zhao Zhengming is full of confidence.
Domestic brands are coming together
The rapid development of the industry is inseparable from the rapid growth and leading role of advantageous enterprises. This is also true in the high-voltage frequency conversion industries where the technological threshold is high and foreign products dominate.
With the emphasis placed on energy conservation by the entire society, high-voltage inverters are increasingly being recognized by users and are basically in the stage of continuous growth in the market. Under such circumstances, domestic companies started with the introduction of imitation, and through independent research and development and technological innovation, they have continuously narrowed the technological gap with foreign products, and some domestic brands have grown up, breaking the monopoly market pattern of a small number of foreign companies such as ABB and Siemens. But at the same time, it also triggered a fierce price war in the domestic high-voltage inverter market. Today, this "price war" seems to have "converged" in the field of high-voltage inverters.
" With the accelerating development of local superior enterprises, the competitive landscape of China's high-voltage frequency converters will gradually stabilize and out of the price war." Zhao Zhengming explained that since high-voltage inverters are used in more important occasions, users are still relying on reliability when selecting products. Be the preferred criterion, not measured entirely by price. Moreover, after years of development, several major domestic companies have gradually been recognized by users, many of which are strong production capacity, capital strength of the brand.
Beijing Leader Huafu Electric Technology Co., Ltd. is currently the largest manufacturer of high-voltage frequency inverters with the largest production scale and strongest production capacity in China. It has been a leader in the fields of high-voltage, high-power frequency control and automatic control products and technical solutions. As of September 2009, the company's sales have exceeded 3,000 units in total, and the products have been exported to regions such as Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and have maintained market share for the sixth consecutive year.
Hekang Yisheng Technology Co., Ltd., which specializes in the universal high-voltage frequency converter market, also received good news on August 9, 2010, and its cumulative order volume exceeded 2,000 units. In the first half of the year, operating income and net profit were 145 million yuan and 37.6 million yuan, respectively, which represented a year-on-year increase of 15.1% and 9.8%, respectively.
As one of the few companies in the industry that can produce four-quadrant frequency conversion, extra high power, high voltage, and high power frequency conversion (HVC) devices, Rongxin Power Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Rongxin”) has mastered the core technologies and is based on high-end technology. The annual HVC orders increased by 132.96% year-on-year, and it is actively infiltrating the low-end general-purpose high-voltage frequency converter market. Its market share is expected to continue to expand in the next three years, and the annual growth rate of revenue will exceed 100%.
In addition, Harbin Jiuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jiuzhou Electric”), Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd., Guodian Nanzi Co., Ltd., Wolong Electric Group Co., Ltd., and Kelu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. Other companies also have a place in the industry. At the same time, the rapid growth of the market size has also continued to attract new companies seeking layout, Dongfang Electronics Co., Ltd. held in June 2010 high-voltage frequency conversion product appraisal meeting, so that the high-voltage inverter industry has added a new addition.
However, Zhao Zhengming also pointed out that although the benefits of high-voltage inverter manufacturers are good, but the domestic company's products to general-purpose inverter-based, mainly used in electric power, metallurgy and other industrial areas of the fan, pump start or frequency control. Although the product performance has been continuously improved, the failure rate is around 10%, and there are still unstable factors. And in the high-performance high-voltage inverter, the quality of foreign-funded enterprises is still higher than the domestic enterprise.
Market potential breeds multiple strategies
Both the macroeconomic policy and the development of the company indicate the broad market prospect of the high-voltage frequency conversion industry. Zhao Zhengming also agreed with this. "In the next 10 years, China's high-voltage frequency conversion market will continue to develop steadily," he told reporters.
According to the “Research on the Industrialization Approach and Countermeasures of Motor Speed Regulation Technology” report, 66% of the total electricity generated in China is consumed on electric motors. At present, China's motor installed capacity is about 700 billion kW, and high-voltage motors account for about half of them, of which nearly 70% of the load is driven by fans, pumps, and compressors, and half of them are suitable for speed regulation, that is, about 101.5 million kW of high-voltage motors. In a wasteful state of operation. According to the current average price of approximately 500 yuan per kilowatt of high-voltage inverters, the potential market for high-voltage inverters is as high as 50 billion yuan, irrespective of the need for new high-voltage motors for frequency control in the future.
“What needs to be emphasized is that while the market is rapidly developing, it must be stable.” Zhao Zhengming thinks, “There are many ways to save electricity. After all, high-voltage inverters are relatively expensive. Whether or not high-voltage inverters are used for speed adjustment requires us to align The speed system is scientifically and comprehensively evaluated, and it is recommended to analyze the problems of the existing system and adopt the frequency conversion speed regulation in a targeted way, and to optimize the design of the new system first, to prevent the emergence of a high-voltage inverter but not to achieve high efficiency. Operational situation."
In addition to continuing to increase technological innovation and improve product performance to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction in the traditional industry, many companies that originally produced high-voltage inverters have been or are undergoing transformation and research and development of wind power converters, solar grid-connected converters and other products. Diversified strategic layout to get a bigger market cake.
Taking wind power converters as an example, with the rapid development of China's wind power industry, it is expected that the total market capacity of wind power converters will reach 28 billion to 46 billion yuan in the next 10 years. Facing this considerable market expectation, domestic companies are eager to try.
Jiuzhou Electric is a typical representative of successful transformation. In 2009, its MW-class wind turbine converter test platform was completed and put into operation. Direct-drive and double-fed megawatt-class wind power converters were successfully rolled out. The production of 200 sets of megawatt-class wind power inverter industrialization projects was listed as a new key investment industry revitalization and technological transformation special projects, and received 11.9 million yuan state capital support.
In addition, wind power converters developed by Rongxin have been tested by Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd.'s 1.5MW wind power converter test platform, and it is expected that the first batch of products will be sold in 2010. Haide Control has completed the development of 1.5MW and 2MW double-fed wind power converters. It is the only converter in China that has passed the low-voltage ride-through test of China Electric Power Research Institute.
As a member of the General Expert Group of the National Wind Power Special Support Project Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Zhao Zhengming told the reporter, “Although the Ministry of Science and Technology has arranged some units to research and develop and produce 1.5MW, 2MW and 3MW double-fed and direct-drive wind power converters respectively. However, due to the late start of domestically produced wind turbines, especially wind power converters, there is no perfect department and testing site for wind power testing in China, and the stability of wind power converter products needs to be further improved. But overall, China These three types of wind power converters have all achieved the capability of independent production, and 1.5MW double-fed and direct-drive products can achieve mass production."
It is almost certain that under the stimulation of huge market demand, the high-voltage frequency converter market in China will continue to grow.
