The new 5123 Series filters combine a power socket that complies with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards with a line filter designed for nominal currents up to 15A. This combined power input unit integrates the electromagnetic compatibility filter directly with the line input for optimum electromagnetic compatibility. Large-area metal flanges feature a wide contact surface to further optimize filtering and shielding. Compared to the 5120 series in the market and other similar products, the filter's boosting inductance can increase the asymmetry attenuation by 6 decibels, which is equivalent to twice its attenuation characteristics. As a result, the superior filtering performance allows the 5123 Series to be better suited for applications that require maximum interference rejection, such as switching power supplies.
The 5123 series is available in three mounting styles: recessed, screw-in or stud-on. Screw-in assembly from the rear side is particularly suitable for plastic chassis with internal metal layers. Wiring is done using quick-connect terminals, soldering, stranding or printed circuit board termination. Printed circuit board style products have embedded foot points to ensure safe installation of printed circuit boards. Stranded-type products meet customer requirements for specific wiring for cost-effective wiring.
The 5120 and 5213 enhanced products are designed for operating currents up to 10A at 250V input voltage and up to 15A at 125V input voltage, according to IEC standards and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) requirements. Both products are certified to ENEC and cURus. Both product models are available in standard and medical models for IT applications in accordance with IEC 60950 and for medical applications in accordance with IEC 60601-1.
