TE Connectivity ( TE ) now offers Terminal Lock Inserts (TPA) and Glow Wire Standards for the new compact Economy Power 2.5 ( EP2.5 ) connector family to comply with IEC 60335-1 (Household and similar appliances – safety standard.

EP2.5 is a new compact single row crimp connector system, comprising pitch 2.5mm (0.098 "pitch) of the new plastic plug, the receptacle terminals and connectors, is a very compact solution. EP2.5 The connector series is available in 2 to 20 digits and is available in new 180 degree vertical and 90 degree right angle sockets.

Other optimization features include a newly designed TPA terminal lock insert – this part prevents looseness of the terminal in a random vibration environment, and completely prevents the terminal from being locked into the correct position in the molded case. The potential hazard; the external latch on the plug molded case ensures a tight fit to the socket; and the design of the anti-damp bump on the plug and socket helps to avoid mismatching the timing.

EP2.5 series connectors are widely used not only in household appliances such as kitchen utensils, refrigerators, dishwashers, but also in high-voltage AC control and lighting. These products are low cost and perform well, and are suitable for any application that needs to transmit power and signals to the board through the electronic line.

The EP2.5 connector integrates up to 20 electronic wires (ranging from 20g to 26AWG) into a single 51mm (2") PCB. This ergonomic rounded design connector can be used to carry rated power supply circuit applications at 4.5 VAC at 250 VAC. The EP2.5 connector is UL listed and operates over a temperature range of -55 °C to 105 °C and is matched to similar products on the market for easy replacement. The molded case material is UL 94V-0 grade, and a variety of color options are available upon request. The plug terminal material is tin-plated phosphor bronze. To help avoid frictional corrosion and the formation of tin whiskers, the terminals have been lubricated.
