Molex , the world's leading provider of complete interconnect products, unveiled the new EXTreme EnergetiCTM high-current connector system at DesignCon 2013, held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California. The new connector system is designed to provide advanced solutions for high-end data communications OEMs and power supply manufacturers for applications requiring up to 100.0A per column. This product is part of Molex's extensive line of EXTreme interconnect and power products designed for demanding applications.
Molex Product Manager Rich Benson said: "At present, connectors designed for high-end computing applications can only achieve a maximum of 60.0A to 75.0A per column. Our EXTreme EnergetiC high-current connector system can support up to 100.0A per column. Current, the next generation power unit is expected to require higher current density."
The EXTreme EnergetiC TM connector system is available in right-angle plug and vertical socket configurations with 4 and 6 power-column areas and a 25-pin signal area. The modular design provides a variety of configurations to support demanding applications. Data and telecommunications applications include:
