Electric vehicles have long charging time, short cruising range and high price are important reasons for consumers to reject electric vehicles. Proponents of the power-switching model believe that the power-switching mode will solve the core problems that currently plague the promotion of electric vehicles, including poor battery life and thin charging infrastructure. However, in the view of opponents, there are many problems that cannot be solved at the same time. In the case of different internal structure of electric vehicle products and different process levels, power exchange is not a feasible solution. The battle between charging and changing power has been around for a long time.

In 2015, the number of built-up charging piles in China was 49,000, and the sales volume of new energy vehicles in the same year was 380,000. This figure is far from the ratio of new energy vehicles and charging piles, which is 1:1. The contradictions are getting sharper. However, some experts believe that the power exchange mode has the following drawbacks:

First, the power-exchange mode requires a large amount of battery reserves, the industry scale is huge, and the coordination of the industrial chain is difficult, which is not conducive to the promotion of electric vehicles.

Second, the power-exchange mode requires uniform technical standards, including unified battery manufacturing technology, standardization construction, energy supply network construction, national smart grid construction, urban planning, and vehicle access standards. At this stage, these problems cannot be solved at all.

Third, changing the power will increase the risk of instability of the connection structure between the battery and the vehicle. The electrode plug is easy to wear and spark, causing safety problems, and frequent movement of the battery may cause damage to the frame.

At present, most electric vehicles are based on the development of traditional fuel vehicles rather than new developments. This means that most electric cars and electric buses are the same as conventional fuel vehicles. Compared with the fuel version, electric The version has a few hundred kilograms of batteries, and these batteries have greatly crowded the car and there is not much space. And the power battery of the load-bearing body is installed on the bottom plate component, which means that when the power is changed, only the "upper pumping" can be adopted instead of the "falling". For the electric car with the load-bearing body, the power-changing is likely to be required. Removing the interior floor or even the seat is obviously an unacceptable thing for the car family. Even a newly developed model with a non-loaded body like Tesla's model S has not adopted a power-changing mode. In comparison, an important reason for the development of pure electric buses is that they are large in size, large in space, and have a rough process and low technical threshold. The same is the load-bearing body, the electric bus because of its large space, the power battery layout is relatively flexible, simple, and it is more feasible to change the power.

Because of its single model and relatively fixed driving route, electric buses can be built at their terminal stations. The electric buses themselves do not need to carry a large number of batteries for the purpose of long life. We know that the more batteries, the heavier the body, the higher the energy consumption per unit of mileage. Therefore, the application of the power exchange mode on the electric bus will reduce the energy consumption and reduce the purchase cost of the bicycle. The electric private car, because of its many models, the battery model and capacity are not the same, the space is extremely limited, the feasibility of changing the power is very low, and the charging mode is more reliable.
