Speed-up and fee-raising has been advocated for two years, so is there any mention of the speed increase in the first place? Recently, the Broadband Development Alliance released the 14th China Broadband Rate Report, which shows that the average download rate of fixed broadband in 13 provincial administrative regions has exceeded 12 Mbit/s.
The report also shows that in the fourth quarter of 2016, China's broadband network speed increased steadily, the average download rate of fixed broadband networks reached 11.90 Mbit/s, and the average download rate of mobile broadband users when using 3G networks to access the Internet was 3.89 Mbit/s, using 4G networks. The average download rate when accessing the Internet reached 11.93 Mbit/s, a significant increase from the end of 2015.
In terms of regional conditions, the average download rate of fixed broadband in 13 provincial-level administrative regions has exceeded 12 Mbit/s, and Shanghai, Shandong, Jiangsu, Beijing, and Fujian rank among the top five. Shanghai, Jinan, Fuzhou, Zhengzhou and Beijing rank among the top five in the broadband rate rankings of municipalities and provincial capitals. From the perspective of the mobile broadband speed of different operating enterprises, China Unicom's download rate and 4G network user download rate are the highest, reaching 4.81 Mbit/s and 13.72 Mbit/s respectively.
